A Maiden or a Virgin?
There’s much chatter on the internet about the effect of Virgin America on the US airline industry. They’ve been greeted as though they are the airline equivalent of a maiden’s prayer. Just like every other start-up carrier they make waves, and they have a short-term effect on prices and even on service, but can they really make a long-term difference? The answer of course is no. Before long they’ll be dragged into the mire of survival and it’ll be a question of who has got the deepest pockets.
