Too Much Monkey Business

Sometimes the behaviour of human passengers resembles that of our close relatives the monkey but on a flight this week a passenger went one further and actually took a monkey on board a flight. Apparently it was with a passenger from Peru and let loose onboard a Spirit Airlines flight to New York's LaGuardia Airport on Tuesday afternoon. The pygmy marmoset belonged to a male passenger from Lima, Peru who bought the animal off the streets in Lima.

The man then smuggled the foot tall animal through security in Peru and onto a flight to Fort Lauderdale, he then got past security again when he took a connecting flight from there to New York City. Passengers noticed the monkey clinging to the man's ponytail during the flight and reported it to authorities.

His defence - I didn't know you couldn't do that!
