....Mon Dieu, they've really gone and done it this time. Ryanair have used a photo of French President Nicolas Sarkozy and girlfriend Carla Bruni in an advertisement. Le President has asked his lawyer to take legal action against the airline. The advert, published on Monday in the French daily Le Parisien, showed the smiling couple with a speech bubble coming from le wife-elect saying: "With Ryanair, all my family can come to my wedding."
Apparently le French leader had requested the immediate removal of the ad - we're still trying to ascertain whether or not he's looking for a financial apology. A nice man at Ryanair has apparently apologised. "It was a humorous comment on a matter of great public interest in France. We apologize sincerely for any offense caused." I'm not sure it was of great public interest but can't he take a joke.
We're off to try and find a copy of the advert....
UPDATE
Found it, sort of....
We couldn't find the advert but we think this is the picture....
Here's the words from the speech bubble, all of you with photoshop can 'make your own.
"With Ryanair, all my family can come to my wedding."
