Branson Pickle

Our favourite airline boss, balloonist and entrepreneurial pin-up has popped up in the news this week. The walk on 'star' of the latest Bond escapade 'Casino Royale' has revealed that he joined the 'Mile High' Club at the tender age of 19 (he was probably well on his way to his first million by then too). Staying true to his instincts for upstart airline operations he and his partner snuck off to the toilets on a Laker Airways flight to Los Angeles.

In an interview printed in GQ magazine he said "It was every man's dream, to be honest. What I remember vividly is seeing four handprints on the mirror as we finished and thinking I'd better wipe them off."

Perhaps the steamy business played tricks on Sir Richard's mind; he was 19 in 1969, and Freddie Laker didn't commence operations to LA until the 1970's. But why let detail spoil a good story?
