Monkey Business

A man arrving at La Guardia airport, New York kept an secret companion literally under his hat recently. The Spirit Airlines passenger had snuck a marmoset monkey under his chapeau, and had managed to travel from Lima, Peru via Fort Lauderdale, including a customs inspection, and was on a connecting flight to New York.

It was only when his little friend nipped out of his millinary prison and started playing with his owner's ponytail that other passengers raised the alarm and he was rumbled. His fellow fliers were reported to have asked him "whether he know he had a monkey on him", which would have been difficult to deny all knowledge of and keep a straight face. The New York authorities confiscated the hapless primate on arrival.
