Having just mentioned Frank Sinatra I'm minded of the fact that it wasn't the first time he was appeared alongside an aircraft. In the 1940s he featured in this shot with a DC3 of American Airlines. In the 1950s Sinatra became one of the first singers or actors for that matter to own his own plane. He bought a Martin 404 and used it on overseas concert tours.
