Early Arrival

Full marks to flight supervisor Carol Miller who supervised more than usual on a First Choice Airways flight, when passenger Nicola Delemere went into a very premature labour during the journey from Manchester to Crete in April this year. She delivered a baby boy weighing 1lb 1oz at 30,000 feet with the help of the dauntless Carol, who cleared the new born's lungs with a straw and carried out mouth to mouth on him until the plane could land at Gatwick. Young Alfie was then transferred to a London hospital before getting back home to Scunthorpe. Sounds like the 'Is there a Doctor on the plane?' announcement didn't yield any offers...
