It's a little known fact but some modern airline aircraft have extraordinary healing powers. Or so it seems to the cabin crew who regularly board wheelchair users first, ahead of the madding crowd, yet find that when the flight arrives at its destination and the hordes are released, while the wheelchair users are obliged to wait until the aisles are clear, it's a regular occurrence for the previously chair bound to be capable of walking off the aircraft. Saints be praised!
Perhaps the airlines should try marketing this remarkable effect and give Lourdes a run for its money. And you thought flying's only effect on your legs was cramp or maybe a DVT.
